UK Crimes Map

Do you believe a nuclear show down with Iran is inevitable ?

They have Russian built reactors - They want there own - They are enriching uranium - Scientists can put a time table on how long it takes to make it into weapon grade stuff It will be a few years yet before they can build a full scale nuclear bomb - They could probably built a weak one now with the enrichment they have already acomplsihed . The US accuses them weekly of interfering in Iraq They recently abducted British sailors and then promplty lied about it and then expected the UK to aplologise because Iran commited a crime They from time to time threaten to wipe Israel off the map - The list goes on from there but I think thats a godd starting point Given all that - despite talks with the UN and the EU and the Russians etc Will there eventually be a nuclear showdown with Iran ? Assuming there is a showdown Where and what role will Russia China and Europe play in all this Somehow I can forsee the UK saying oh you bad Americans and then going just out of camera range and yelling GOD BLESS THE DAM YANKS

  1. No, there will be no "showdown".
  2. If there is one it will be with Israel!
  3. This is a self answering question. Obviously for all those reasons and more are reasos why a nuclear showdown is inevitbe with the US and Iran. So hypothetically when we attack iran there woulod be serious repracusions to doing so. I dont feel that iran is that much of a threat itself to the US, even though in years to come they will most likely be a much bigger threat. An attack on iran is like attacking russia, Russia has strong relations with Iran and has huge economic interests there. If we were to attack iran it would bring russia into the conflict on the side of the Iranians. China also has some economic intrests in Iran, but i dont think they are enough to draw in China into a war.
  4. Russia, China ,and Europe have a much bigger stake with any showdown than the USA. The current and even projected missiles for Iran to launch any sort of nuke will not reach the USA proper. Moscow, Paris, London, Actually, all of Europe, and much of China are within current ranges and are just as infidel as any American. Forget Israel in this equation. Iran knows for a fact that if they attack Israel, Tehran will be a sheet of glass. But if you threaten Paris, who really gives a fu*k. The French will bend over and just ask how much.
  5. Russia and China will keep out of it except for meaningless diplomatic resolutions. Europe will blame the Americans for harrasing the poor Iranians who just want to use peaceful nuclear energy. After the peaceful Iranians drop a nuclear blockbuster somewhere, like Israel, the Europeans will blame the Americans for not preventing this.
  6. Nothing is inevitable, the middle east seems to pride itself on how menacing it can be. The original fear factor. When it comes to answering a question like that, the fact that the question was asked and answered could spark a nuclear showdown. Israel is still standing, if that is any indication. The next election could prompt a diplomatic pact with Iran to be our friend, or hasten the destruction of the earth. There is no good answer, because of whom we are dealing with.
  7. It's crazy to be asking such a question. I say this because the possibility is there and it is high. This is very much reminiscent of the "Atomic Age" of the 1950's, without the communist connection. One difference that I'm beginning to notice is between the way citizens responded then to how we respond now. It was so imperative to prepare for such an event that it not only unified us, but invigorated our sense of patriotism. These are the kind of times that define a generation. Assuming that a showdown with Iran is undeniable, we must ask ourselves what would come from it? Will we be better for it (I ask this question cautiously), meaning will we accept that success is a team effort and can only be achieved if we stand against this terror united not only today, but also tomorrow? I believe we can, as crazy as it may sound because we've been doing so since 1776. We Americans have always been a force to reckon with because when freedom is at stake, our very existence is as well. Two hundred and thirty-one years later, freedom is not only something we cherish, but also something we will fight for and die for. And because of that, freedom will live another day.
  8. Iran thinks it is a controlling interest in the Middle East. If they want a showdown I am sure one could be arranged, however, that isn't what most people I know want. Bush is an @ss so he might cause a showdown just to have a continued war effort in the Middle East. Some say we aren't fighting an oil war. What kind of war are we fighting???
  9. Yes!
  10. It is probable, but not inevitable. The United Nations has imposed two sets of sanctions on Iran since December over its refusal to freeze enrichment -- a process that can be used to make atomic warheads. Ali Larijani made it clear to EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana in Ankara that Iran had no intention of suspending uranium enrichment. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/05/03/AR2007050300625.html The U.N. Security Council unanimously voted to expand sanctions on March 24, 2007. The new resolution 1747 calls on Iran to comply fully with all previous UN resolutions and join negotiations to reach agreement so as to restore international confidence in the peaceful nature of its nuclear program. Full transparency and cooperation with the IAEA are required. Suspension of Iran’s banned nuclear activities will elicit the parallel suspension of sanctions. The package of incentives offered Tehran last year for its cooperation remains on the table. The full text of the draft of resolution 1747 appears at this website: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6455853.stm March 15, 2007 - Iran intends to have one of the largest nuclear fuel cycle programs in the developing world..with the capability to produce highly enriched uranium (HEU) and weapon-grade plutonium for nuclear weapons. Natanz - Urenco’s “P1” (slow) and “P2” (fast) centrifuges - In January, Iran started to install about 3,000 centrifuges underground in the FEP. The centrifuges are slated to be organized into eighteen 164-machine cascades that operate together under a common control system to produce low enriched uranium, what Iran calls a “module.” The underground halls of the FEP can hold about 17-18 modules, for a total of about 50,000 to 53,000 centrifuges http://www.isis-online.org/publications/iran/AlbrightTestimony15March2007.pdf Iran's key nuclear sites. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/4617398.stm
  11. No country should ever drop a nuke on any other country EVER!
